Concept Proposal

Research project ideas can be proposed by Member Institution PI’s to Takeda Pharmaceuticals via submission of one or more concept proposals. Concept proposals should describe an innovative, collaborative project in the field of regenerative medicine. Proposals can be submitted using the following web form through October 16, 2017. Project concepts will be matched with Takeda scientists to form collaborative teams, and selected ideas will be further developed jointly by the Member Institution PI and their Takeda counterpart in a detailed project proposal due spring, 2018.

Concept proposals will include a Project Description including problem to be solved or innovation to be developed, background and rationale, novelty and/or impact, explanation of why collaboration with Takeda is integral to execution of the research plan (limit 300 words) and a list of 2-4 Specific Aims (limit 500 words). Please design project scope to fit a budget of ~$400k direct costs over a two year term. In addition please be prepared to upload an NIH Biosketch.

Eligibility

PI’s belonging to one of the following Member Institutions of the Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine are eligible to submit concept proposals:

The La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology

The Salk Institute for Biological Studies

The Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute

The Scripps Research Institute

The University of California San Diego
